The Amazing Contrast Between Dell Latitude 5580 and 5590

The Amazing Contrast Between Dell Latitude 5580 and 5590

Resilience and robustness are synonymous with the Dell Latitude series with each computer. Each computer is built with such precision and chemistry that you get something that runs for a decade or more.

However, that's not all the Dell Latitude series has to offer. You also get the complete functionality you need to perform your work tasks or even kick back with some entertainment.

New latitude laptops can go from somewhere around $600 for a basic work-based laptop to $3000 for a highly enhanced convertible notebook. The series has 4 different ranges: 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000.

The Dell Latitude 5580

The Dell Latitude 5580 is in the middle of the Dell Latitude 5000 series. It is Dell’s highest volume PC; therefore, investments in sustainability features help ensure Dell effectively delivers impact at scale.

The Latitude 5000 series boasts the most creative usage of sustainable materials in the world. To protect the goods, the Latitude 5000 series includes packaging made entirely of recycled or renewable materials, all of which are completely recyclable.

The Dell Latitude 5590, like the 5580, uses the same materials in its construction and functioning. Both computers are identical with only a few minor variations.

Processor

The Dell Latitude 5580 has many variants that were released over multiple years which are each unique to another. The processors used in these variants range from core i3 to i7.

The processor runs at the minimum of 2.4GHz for a core i3 to a 3.9GHz for a core i7. Dell offers 3, 4,6 and 8M cache for these processors. The more cores there are, the more expensive it is. The 5580 comes in dual and quad cores.

The Dell Latitude 5590 was also released in two different batches with 7th and 8th generation laptops. Each generation has many variants that are unique to another. The processors used in these variants range from core i3 to i7.

The processors for the 7th gen run at a minimum of 2.4GHz for a core i3 to 2.9GHz for a core i7. Whereas the 8th gen offers processors at core i5 and core i7 that clock speeds of 3.4GHz to 4.2GHz. Dell offers 3, 4,6, and 8M cache for these processors.

The more cores there are, the more expensive it is. The 5580 comes in dual and quad cores.

GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)

The Dell Latitude 5580 is normally used for work-related stuff and runs programs that aren't exactly heavy. Programs like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Photoshop and related content rarely require heavy graphics units to run.

Hence, this product comes with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 and even an Intel HD Graphics 530. These GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) provide the computer with enough power to run its daily task load without having to upgrade it.

For those that are still intent on upgrading, they can move towards NVIDIA GeForce 940M 64 Bit and NVIDIA GeForce 930MX 64 Bit GPUs.

Similarly, the 5590 also comes with a relatively lightweight GPU, the Intel HD Graphics 620, that helps users with all the tasks. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. This motto fits perfectly with this model of laptop where the GPU stays untouched.

However, if you still want to experience the thrill of a powerful GPU, you can upgrade the variant to one with an NVIDIA GeForce MX130 2GB GDDR5 GPU.

RAM (Random Access Memory) and Storage

The highly desired Dell Latitude 5580 offers assorted options for RAM to the users with the lowest being 8 GB and the highest at 32 GB. If you like faster booting and storage processing, you can choose the latter.

The traditional 5580 used to come with HDD options but the renewed ones at PC Mart offer SDD which are better and faster. The SSDs (Solid State Drive) PC Mart offers are 256, 512, and 1024 GB or 1 TB in other words.

To know more about why SSD (Solid State Drive) is better than HDD, read this blog.

Likewise, in the case of Dell Latitude 5590, the company has integrated 8, 16 and 32 GB DDR4 RAM into the system for better processing.

This variety of RAMs help you make a detailed and analyzed decision for your computing needs. As for the SSD, the 5590 comes with 256, 512 and 1024 or 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD.

Display

When it comes to choosing a laptop, most people tend to select one with a good display, preferably HD quality. The Dell Latitude 5580 does fulfill that with its 15.6-inch HD and Full HD screens.

The screens offer resolutions of 1366x768 for HD and 1920x1080 for Full HD screens. This way you won't need to buy tickets for movies, but rather have a screening time to yourself with an HDMI connector.

Similarly, the Dell Latitude 5590 offers a 15.6-inch display with options of HD and Full HD resolution.

However, this one comes with a twist. You can go for one with a touch screen display. This will give you the feeling of a tablet along with a laptop.

What Do We Like?

Choosing one of these two masterpieces is quite confusing. The two products are so similar in their specs and prices that you can't go for one without having doubts.

The effortless way would be to select the one that fits your computing needs. If you don't want a heavy GPU, don't spend the extra money.

Extra storage does not go to waste, but lack of storage might prove to be a regret in the future. To compare your choices of Dell Latitude 5580 and 5590, check out the links and get your favorite laptops.
